Hi I’m Charmaine!

I’m a relational therapist with a deep understanding of relationship struggles both through training and through lived experience.

Relational pain can show up through bereavement, family estrangement, attachment difficulties, or emotional disconnection. You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally stuck, or caught in patterns that no longer feel helpful, even if you have insight into your past. I work with adults seeking therapy for relational trauma and emotional distress who want more than coping strategies alone.

My style is down-to-earth and collaborative. I won’t sit in silence or act like I have all the answers, and I won’t hand you quick fixes either. Instead, we’ll explore together at your pace so that you can make sense of things and bring the life changes you seek.

I’m trained in different types of therapy, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), a powerful way of getting to know the different parts of yourself to bring internal peace.  You can read more about IFS here.

I also work in an LGBTQ+ affirmative way, which means creating a space where every part of you is welcome without assumptions, without judgment. You can learn more about what this means to me here.

Whether you’d prefer to meet in person or online, you’re welcome to get in touch and see if we might be a good fit.

Charmaine Zahra MBACP,

I am Maltese-born, but London is my home, and I run a private practice from Wimbledon, Tooting and online.

In my free time I enjoy walking in nature, reading a good book or painting by numbers.

As part of my commitment to Continuous Professional Development I continue to undertake training in Internal Family Systems Therapy and other trauma-informed modalities.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I adhere to their code of ethics as well as the law governing the counselling field.
